Hello, I lost my tooth in an accident. Doctor advice me to go for a tooth cap. What's the life time of a tooth cap. Any other possibilities? Doctor said I dont need a root canal as I went for consultation immediately.

Hello as per your query loss of complete tooth in an accident necessitates proper healing prior to any dental procedure being undertaken. As far as life time of a cap is concerned, it usually lasts till the supporting teeth or the tooth on which it has been placed lasts for. But do get an iopa i. E. X -ray done in order to confirm that no tooth fragment is left behind in the socket.
