Hello doctors I adil ahmad bhat presently a third year mbbs student I have a query hope I will get answer from respected doctors my friend have habit of masturbation that once a day he tried allot to get rid from this habit because he do not want to. But he is unable to stop sometimes he stop it for two to three days but after that same happening so my deep request to respected doctors that suggest your opinion what should do. He is 20 year old.

Dear lybrate-user to begin with. Masturbation is healthy. It is a taboo to discuss all these things in our society but wht he and you need to understand is that masturbating is any day better than going out doing something wrong with someone or going to a sex worker. So do not feel guilty about it. Next. I understand he has made it a habit which is not correct. Also he will not be able to stop it instantly. So tell him to reduce frequency to alternate day for a week, then once in a days and so on. This way it will help. Also ask him to keep himself busy and surrounded by people.
