I had undergone angioplasty about 5 years back. Since then I have been taking prescribed medicines, including, ecosprin 75 and clopid 75. I have following queries: 1. Considering the probable serious side effects for long term use, what kind of substitutes can be used with lesser side effects. Or can I stop the medicine?s altogether? 2. Although, I am not having any health issues and my stress and eco tests are also normal, kindly suggest me a noninvasive test in place of angiography) for determining the health of the arteries/stents. A check for any developing blockages can ct scan serve the purpose? Thanks I anticipation.

Yes, you should reduce medicines. Ecosprin clopid combination should be avoided after 1-2 years of stenting. Mpi scan better than ct for post stent evaluation. You don't require tests unless there are symptoms so avoid these tests till you are unwell.
