Any pain is not normal if it is occuring recurrently. If possible you can reach nearby physio and can start your treatment. As per symptoms it seems you are having nerve compression (can be sciatic nerve) which can be cured in few sittings of physiotherapy. At home you can do ice massage of your buttocks and lower back for 10 min and then can do some back strengthening exercises along with self sciatic nerve glide. Self nerve glide at home - lie on your back with your unaffcected foot on the ground and your affected knee pulling in towards your chest while flexing your right foot. Then extend your leg and point your toes, straightening your leg as high as you can without causing a pulling sensation. Repeat at least 10 times. This will improve flexibility and thus relieve from pain. For any query kindly contact. Regards.
