Hi, the ideal way to quit smoking is weaning off of it slowly. For example, if you are smoking 10 cigarettes a day, start going to 9 for a few days. When you get comfortable at 9, go to 8. Keep decreasing the number of cigarettes every few days. Also try delaying the act of smoking. Don't give in to your urges immediately. One important question is why did you start smoking in the first place? Was it to impress a girl, to fit in your friend circle or was it to forget/numb some pain? If you started smoking to avoid emotional pain, you will benefit from counseling. Counseling will help you deal with the pain and live a more meaningful and happy life.
