I have a bad tooth ache towards the end of my jaw. It seems it is wisdom tooth but how do I confirm and make sure it is not infection?

It may be pericoronitis. Just go ahead with warm saline gargles with betadine gargles. And maintain oral hygiene .

To rule out infection you will need to check the area around the tooth. It will be swollen, red and painful to touch if it's infected. It's always better to get it checked as other teeth in the area might also give pain if there is decay. It may or may be visible clearly.
