Intentionally I used to clench my teeth due to my misaligned teeth (overbite problem). As a result gradually my jaw started clicking or popping, occasional locking and the muscles around my cheek went into spasm. Thus the symmetry of my face has been destroyed and I look very bad now. Also the bad lifestyle and bad posture has increased this problem with some neck and back problems. What are the worst effects of teeth clenching on my jaw joint and around the muscles? Can it damage my tmj disk and ligaments or any other internal damage badly? Can those worst effects of teeth clenching be treated by tmj splint therapy and orthodontic treatment as I am going to this treatment now. Please help me. I feel lonely and worried about this problem.
