First place why does this question arise , when a tooth is not troubling you why disturb it, wisdom tooth removal is advised only if it causing pressure to the neighbouring tooth as they usually dont erupt normally , if it is in normal alignment and not affecting you in anyways , then presrve your wisdom:)

No it may not be necessary. But again the present condition of the same and the adjacent teeth be co related on taking an OPG. The same may be kept under review bi annual or annually. Many a times the angulated 3rd molars allow food to remain stuck in between teeth which in turn leads to decay and then subsequent pain and rct for adjacent teeth.

Well if your wisdom tooth has fully erupted and you dont have any pain or any signs of discomfort then you should leave it as it is. Wisdom tooth is extracted if it has not fully erupted or if it is impacted into the bone or has any pathology. Its not necessary. Any tooth/ teeth should be saved, wisdom teeth are notorious with their position and anatomy. once they start hurting, its best to visit a nearest dentist and he can give u options in regards to save or extract the tooth. Bottomline: save whenever possible.
