My sister's right jaw is hurting she cannot even chew food. The xray shows a dislocated tmj. And the doctor only prescribed painkillers. What should she do.

Hi. If the X-ray shows that the joint is dislocated than that needs to be put back into position as soon as possible otherwise it would be difficult to manage it as time passes by.
