Hi, I am Avinash kumar 34 years old. I am a new diabetes patient. I recently done my sugar test on 01 November 2018. My HbA1c test result indicates 6.1 I have been completely remove sugar intake in any form like tea, sweets,chocolate etc. Now, I want to know is it possible to complete cure from this disease.

Currently, there is no cure for Type 1 diabetes, but it can be treated successfully by administering insulin, either by an injection or pump, and by following a healthy, balanced diet and getting regular physical activity.

Mr. lybrate-user Kumar, Thanks for the query. With HbA1c% 6.1, you are in pre-diabetic state. This is not diabetes yet. Following are the criteria for diagnsing: Diabetes Fasting glucose 126 mg and above, PP 200 mg and above & HbA1c% 6.5% and above. So you are in prediabetic state. Modified life style, diet control and exrercise will help in preventing diabetes or postponing it. Thanks.
