I have excessive hair fall since past 6 month, generalised thinning in all areas of scalp especially in the posterior aspect and side of the scalp, I checked my thyroid function and tsh is 5 and t3 and t4 within normal limits first I considered normal hair fall, later thickness of hair reduced to half.

TSH 5 is hypothyroidism and need to take thyroxine tablet and the hypothyroidism can be cause of hair fall
