Hi! I was diagnosed with typhoid fever 6 weeks ago and till now symptoms are persistent with little improvement as I switched to 3 doctors during my treatment. The symptoms which I feel now are recurrent cough, fatigue and low GRADE fever sometimes around 99.7 deg. I got test done last week typhidot which came out to be reactive and doctor prescribed me again some antibiotics like cefixime and for cough pulmowin syrup. But thing is I want to know how long I will have to take this medication as it's been nearly 2 months m having all this? Also I have heard about some injection in drip form for this from my friends and relatives but my doctor hasn't suggested anything as such but why? Kindly, guide me with this and also suggest precaution and diet for typhoid fever? Really fed up of having medicines.

Typhoid is fully curable if the proper antibiotic is taken and in your case the antibiotic may not be responsive and do a culture and take the correct drug based on the report.
