Cause of the recurrent throat infection should be evaluated. Since you are also having a lot of mucous / expectoration , it is good to rule out the cause in the nose & sinuses also by relevant clinical examination and investigations , if required. This will help to have a long term cure from the symptoms. Please see an ENT surgeon in your locality.
