Hi, I daily have beet in lunch and yesterday I had tomato sabzi in the night. Next day morning the colour of my stool was brown but the water in the pot turned red. Is this normal?

Tarry Stools. Bleeding in the upper portion of your digestive system can cause black, tarry stools. Ulcers or another form of irritation in your esophagus or stomach known as gastritis can cause bleeding. When the blood mixes with digestive fluids, it takes on the appearance of tar.

Beet root is rich in flavonoids, and phenolic compounds, sometimes when they are excess in the body they are excreted from our stools, advise would be to stop eating beet roots and you would see the stools to be normal.
