Gallstone problem for my mother age of 55 years. ultrasonography report is - gall bladder is contracted, thickened walls with multiple echogenic foci seen in lumen measuring 0.41 cm-0.47 cm with strong acoustic shadowing, cholecystitis with cholelithiasis, pericholcystic area is normal. What does it mean what should I do. Please help.

Hi. She will need laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Gallbladder is thickened in both chronic infection as well as cancer. She will need anyways surgery for removal of gallbladder. Post surgery biopsy report will confirm the final diagnosis. Don't worry mostly 99 percent it is diseased gallbladder rather than cancer. We have lot of experience in gallbladder surgery.
