Our stomach has acid to soften the food but it does not come upwards as it is stopped by a one way valve at esophagus above stomach. If levels of acid increase due to overeating/ fasting, it does manage to come upwards and affect delicate areas causing ulcers. Eat regularly but minus fats or little spices. Curd/milk is natural ant-acid, so is banana & oats, custard, porridge or khichdi but one can have daal -roti-chawal also provided not much fats or spices are used. Use home remedies to soften the food like ginger, garlic, heeng, saunf, jeera, ajwain. Eat whole fruits as fiber works like cotton to absorb extra acid in stomach. Do go for a walk after regular food to digest it better. Avoid gas forming foods like chickpeas, beans, cabbage, sprouts etc. Know your own constitution, one diet food may suit a person but can cause acidity and gaseous condition in another.
