I am 55 male. I have huge OCD ISSUES. I do not get satisfaction in anything. I type something, delete and retype. I close at ap open it and close again. I turn a page in a book then go back to the previous page and turn again. I keep doing almost everything repetitively for a number of times before I stop. Suffering since many years. Taken psychiatric meds on doctors advice. But nothing works. My life and work is getting hampered more and more.

Dear lybrate-user, OCD needs long term treatment. If you take doctors advice once or twice, it is not enough. Same with psychiatric medicines. You need to take an appropriate dose of medicine. Sometime to find that dose, it may take many visits to the psychiatrist and many different drugs will be increased upto the level of your tolerance. Sometime combination of drugs work. Sometime combination with ERP works. If you don't want your life to suffer, you have to patiently try these treatments with a positive mind.
