Hello doctor, I had induze 2.5 mg on day 4 to 8 for five days. On day 5, we had an intercourse. Then on day 9 I had transvaginal ultrasound. Day 11 my follicle size was 21.8 *17 and I was given HCG 5000 injection that night. Then on day 13 we again had an intercourse. And after that on day 15 sonography was done in which follicle was already ruptured. Today I have conceived. My question is which day sperm must have fertilized an egg? Is it possible sperm to live longer and 5th day sperm would have fertilized an egg?

Sperm life span is 3 to 5 days. Ovum life span is 12 to 24 hours. After hcg injection the follicle would have ruptured anytime upto 36 to 40 hours. Maybe the follicle have ruptured on d12 /d13 and ovum had survived, got fertilized with sperm.
