Hello. For last 6-7 years I am having problems with focusing my attention on a single task. If I try to study, my mind would invariably wander off to some other topic that is not important or priority at that moment. I find myself day dreaming, wandering off in concocted scenarios that has absolutely no possibility of happening. I talk to myself, sometimes loudly. Any task that requires more than 10 minutes of attention span is difficult for me to complete. A friend suggested that I might have adult ADHD and my depression may also has some role to play in it. These inabilities have cost me my career, I'm unemployed. I might very well cost me my life. Any help or advice would be highly appreciated.
