My BP remains at 80/135 or 90/145 which shows systolic is always high. What does it mean?

Dear lybrateuser, -The systolic BP indicates the pressure with which the heart has to pump blood ,in other words the pressure which the blood vessel walls offer to the flow of blood - if the vessel walls are thickened then the elasticity is less & heart has to pump blood with more force against the resistant vessel wall & hence the systolic blood pressure rises - have salt restricted diet with more of fibre containing foods, do regular exercise, sleep well for at least 7-8 hrs & keep stress levels low, also try to reduce weight to bring down the reading.
