My mother is 47 years old. She is having diabetes since five years. In the recent tests we found out that it is above 300. How dangerous is it? And how to control it? What is the strict diet to be followed? For now she is taking medicines prescribed by doctor.

Avoid sugar, jaggery,honey in any form. Also avoid sweet fruits like mangoes, banana,grapes, cheekoo etc. Take lots of vegetables and salad. Take small frequent meals instead of large ones. Maintain ideal body weight. Exercise regularly.
