My husband is a diabetic patient for 10 yrs, he is suffering from kidney problem as well with a creatinine level of 3. He had an attack with Stroke 2 months back and is paralysed. He is undergoing physiotherapy as a treatment to his paralysis apart from medication. I would like to know if he can continue physiotherapy as exercise might increase his creatinine level? I also want to have a diet chart for him.

Moderate exercise would not increase the creatinine levels and unless your husband is going to gym regularly to have very muscular body. With creatinine of 3, be careful with his blood glucose levels as renal deterioration can cause recurrent bouts of Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level). Ask him to eat food five times in a day with breakfast at 8 AM and lunch at 12 noon, small snack at 4 pm and another small snack at 7 pm and dinner at 9: 30 pm. If he is experiencing nocturnal hypoglycemia, then small snack before sleeping too.
