I have been admitted to hospital due to cough, breathlessness etc. After seeing X-ray of chest, my physician suggested to remove Pleural Liquid from Lungs which has been sen for Lab testing. As per the lab report, he told me I have Tb pl. Effusion and asked me to continue medicine for 6 months, started with AKT-4. I am giving below the report. Routine Examination of Body Fluid Physical Examination: Qty: 10 ml, Colour ? Yellowish, Transparency ? Slight hazy, Coagulum ? Absent, Sediment ? present trace (RBCs), Supernatant Fluid ? Slight hazy. Chemical Examination: Proteins (f: 3.9 gms%, Sugar ? 198 mg% Cytological Examination: Total WBC Count: 2800/cu-mm, Polymotphd ? 10 %, Lymphocytes ? 90%, eosinophil: 00%, Any other cells:- Wet Mount Examination: Red Blood Cells: 25-30/HPF, epithelial Cells: 2-3/HPF, Grams smear: Organism not detected, Ziehl-Neelsen Smear ? Acid & Alcohol Fast Bacilli not detected, Impression: Exudate ADA Activity: Investigation (s) Specimen: Pleural Fluid, ADA Activity: 56 u/L. The mantoux test is negative. I would be grateful to get your opinion about the report and treatment.
