I am 37 years old having an Oral sun mucous Fibrosis. I used to chewing pan masala, kharra, ghutka, smoking cigarette from age 18 to 30 years (almost ~12 yrs). I had slight OSMF starting from age 22 but really started giving pain in year 30 with mouth opening was 37 mm. I had stopped all habit and started tobacco cessation course starting with chewing gum, nicotine tablet, patches and finally gave up at age of 32 with specialist. I am now 37 years old with mouth opening of ~40 mm. It is obvious now this OSMF will not regress and I am aware of this fact. After 5 years of cessation, The buccal mucosa changes are seeing now in positive way but still some leathery feeling in some part of both cheek and some band's starting from jaw. Please suggest if every OSMF turn to Oral cancer and what are the chances in my case to turn it to cancer even after cessation of all habit from last 5 years and there is no way to start habit again in lifetime.
