Hi doctor! I'm suffering from excessive acne since two years. I have consulted a doctor before and was given summer medicines. And I observed my Acne had increased because of the prescribed ointment Ave hence further I stopped using it. There was so improvement on my skin. But a few months later it started again. I used all kinds on natural remedies. Started drinking excessive amount of water. I know there might be some hormonal imbalance or some deficiency. But how do I go about it? Please help me with same. Hoping for a response.

Hello, Acne occurs due to hormonal changes that occur in our body according to our age. It should resolve once our hormones stabilise usually around the age of 20-22. A prompt treatment of acne is required to prevent the after effects such as acne scars and marks which are more difficult to treat and easily preventable. Drinking excessive amount if water is not the solution other than the fact that it will keep you hydrated and skin moisturised. Along with hormones, infective component of acne must also be tackled for a long term solution. If the ointment given by your doctor did not help you I would advice you to report this to your doctor so that they may use a different approach and modify the treatment according to your requirement. Please do not hesitate to contact me personally.
