Today I checked up my BP which is so high 150/93. I am nervous what can I do to reduce it. Please suggest me.

Dear lybrateuser, - To reduce your bp you have to modify & follow a healthy lifestyle: - have salt restricted diet, avoid fried, processed & junk foods, also avoid pickles, papads & namkeens, restrict intake of tea, coffee to 1-2 cups per day, avoid alcohol & smoking if you do - have more of fibre containing foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, sprouts, nuts & seeds such as flax, chia & sesame, have heart healthy fats as in fish, olive, canola or sunflower oil for cooking, nuts, avocados & flax seeds - do regular exercise like brisk walking, jogging, swimming, cycling, also yoga,meditation & deep breathing to relax your mind & body - reduce weight by diet & exercise which will greatly help in bringing down your bp a few points - sleep well for at least 7-8 hrs at night, keep your sleep & wake up time fixed - destress by reading, listening to music, play a game or follow a hobby - monitor bp, if the lifestyle changes do not show much improvement after 2-3 months then you will require medications after investigations to rule out any other problem.

See just checking once BP and you get the high reading it does not mean that you are having high BP. So just relax and do one thing get your BP checked by standing, sitting and sleeping position for 3 times a day for 3 days. Ok then send me the reading then further what to do I will advice you ok.

Hello, please check your bp again after 1 day. Anxiety is one of the reasons for high blood pressure. If it is still raised after one day, or you are not feeling well, consult your local physician. Start eating low fat, low salt diet. Exercise regularly.

Don't be nervous, please try to relax. Avoid fatty food and low your salt intake, walk regularly, at times stress, lack of sleep can also increase BP. As you are young to have high BP, should see a doctor to rule out any other cause for high BP.
