Minimum 7-8 HOURS of sleep is important. If she is sleeping at afternoon don't let her sleep automatically at night she will sleep. If she is getting this problem only when school starts then talk to her she may be getting anxiety related to her studies or anything else so remove that anxiety by talking to her and develop friendly relation with her so that she will not get much anxiety as she will share everything with you. Try to set routine. Avoid watching tv, laptop or any screen at night that can also have impact on sleep. Little change in lifestyle will definitely help. All the best.
