A total of 4 teeth were removed up and down when I was a kid for putting braces. After 10 years, I was found to be a victim of 40% of dental bone loss by new dentist after examining my OPG. My question is, Is there a chance of misinterpretation of the triangular gaps existed between teeth after ortho treatment as periodontal disease? If there is no noticeable suffering like swelling and pain, is it still considered to be a periodontal disease? Is it a good idea to go for flap surgery if there is no significant mobility in tooth? Thanks doc :) P.S- 24 years old female.

40% dental bone loss is something related to your bone height and width.....it has nothing to do with extraction of teeth...i would be in a better position to answer this if can see your opg
