I got blood report in which Dr. Suggested excessive iron & high cholesterol, What type of treatment is best for this? Iron 198.4 Percentage Transferrin saturation 51.8% Albumin serum 5 mg/DL Total cholesterol 204 mg/DL Please reply.

Hey lybrate-user, Your iron and cholestrol levels are not too elevated, in high normal ranges. Usually high iron level have low transferrin saturation levels, which in your case is bit contradicting. Avoid fatty foods and do your excercise regularly. Anyways you pls check the same values aftr a week Normal Serum iron: 60?170 ?g/dL Normal Transferin saturation: 12-50% Normal cholestrol: 150-200 mh/dl So, I would just recommend you check fasting levels after a week Wish you good health!
