Dear Lybrateuser, - He can control to some extent by diet & exercise - avoid fried, processed, sugar & fat containing foods, also restrict salt in diet & avoid, pickle, papads & namkeens, restrict intake of tea, coffee to 1-2 cups per day, avoid alcohol & smoking if you do - have more of fibre containing foods such as fruits (avoid chikoo, mangoes, have more of citrus fruits), vegetables including green leafy ones, whole grains like whole wheat, brown rice, oats, quinoa, legumes, sprouts, a handful of mixed nuts, healthy fats as in olive, canola, sunflower oil for cooking, fish, nuts, avocados & flax seeds - exercise regularly like walking, jogging or swimming, do yoga, meditation & deep breathing, also light weight lifting twice a week - destress by proper sleep for 7-8 hrs at night, reading, listening to music or follow a hobby - reduce weight by diet & exercise - monitor bp & blood sugar levels, consult physician if not much improvement as he may require medication to bring the levels under control.
