My mom is suffering from uterine prolapse. She is also having swelling in both of her legs (lower limps) is this related to prolapse? What precautions does one need to keep after hysterectomy? How long does it take to recover after surgery? And how to relieve swelling for now.

She should keep a pillow below her legs while sleeping. Should not sit with legs suspended. Should avoid standing for too long. Hysterectomy operation is very easy and non hazardous these days. You will get discharged within 2 to 3 days of operation. She can resume her normal routine within a couple of weeks.
