My Mother's TSH report is 26.490. Doctor has given tab eltroxin 50 mg. Can this tab works at this junction. And Can high thyroid causes foot swelling. What to do further. Does we do some more tests.

Hello, Thanks for the query. TDH 26 .49 mU/L is too high, suggestive of uncontrolled hypothyroidism. Whether 50 mcg of Levothhyroxine is enough or not is difficult to say, as there is no information on her weight, height and T4 values. Swelling of feet, legs and face is quite common in this condition. Proper treatment will relieve all the symptoms. Treatment has to be continued for lifetime. Thanks.
