Gaining weight in the form of muscles may take sometime so you have to be little patient and put in a lot of efforts. Eat healthy diet which has adequate amount of whole grains like brown rice, whole wheat etc, optimum protein in the form milk and milk products, whole pulses, egg, lean chicken and fish. Try to have frequent meals (within 2-2.5 hrs. Do not skip any of your meal. Also try to include weight training exercises in order to build muscles and boost healthy fat in the body. Yes you can join gym and do weight training over there in order to build muscles and gain weight. There is no need to start with supplements this soon, rather include high protein sources that I have already discussed for optimum protein requirement.
