What is low lying placenta? I am 13 weeks pregnant. N this term is mentioned in my ultrasound. Does this come under previa placenta? What could be the risks and precautions to be taken?

At this stage of pregnancy, many women have Low lying placenta. 90% of these placenta will move to the upper segment of the uterus due to the enlarging uterus as pregnancy progresses and pose no problem. You should avoid strenuous exercise and sexual intercourse as they can cause bleeding. Placenta praevia is the term used for Low lying placenta after 28 weeks of pregnancy.
