Hi doctor, I am 23 year old I am suffering from autoimmune hypothyroidism since 2 years I am taking all my medication everyday skill there are some question I have there is usually weight gain in hypothyroidism but I really don't know what happened with me I am not gaining weight actually currently my weight is 47.7 kg which is before 58 kg 2 years back I really don't know what is this happening with me and I am really worried about my weight please reply thank you.

If your TSH is controlled then think of some other cause for weight loss. Consult a Physician who will evaluate you clinically and may some investigations done to know the exact cause of weight loss.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Usually in hypothyroidism there is an increase in weight. It is unusual to see weight reduction. However, since you have hashimoto's Thyroiditis (HT), it is better to get your blood glucose checked, to see if there is diabetes. Because uncontrolled diabetes can lead to weight loss.
