Hi, I am suffering from Melasma from last 5 years ,taking treatment as well but there is no benefit of any treatment/medicine ,from last more than 3 years I have done all type of medicine (Ayurvedic, allopathic,Homeopathic etc) now my dermatologist suggesting me for LASER because melasma is not easy to treat and its not able to remove completely.

Hello, There are various treatment for pigmentation. From creams containing hydroquinone to milder ones of Kojic acid, niacinamide, arbutin. There is options of glutathione injections to oral tablets with vitamin C, also laser toning also gives good results. Laser toning using Q switch Nd Yag laser is an option but results variable. You may need 6-8 sessions at 3 weeks gap. But even after laser there are chances of melasma comming back. Discuss the pro and cons of each treatment with your dermatologist.
