I was taking metoprolol succinate for long time. I switched to propranolol after doctor's advice but noticed increase in blood pressure in the evening. I stopped taking it for one day and went back to metoprolol succinate and has been taking it for few days but my bp does not decrease. Please advise.

Metoprolol is a better medicine and it does not have respiratory side effects like propornol. Besides medicines, modify your lifestyle if not done yet reduce stress and anxiety related issues with the help of yoga and meditation reduce salt and take more potassium through citrus fruits like oranges and lemon juice and water with honey reduce weight also by eating more of seasonal vegetables and fruits walking is best exercise.
