Dear lybrateuser, - To reduce weight you have to have a well balanced diet & do regular exercise - have more of fibrous foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains instead of refined ones like whole wheat chapati/ bread, brown rice, oats, corn, protein foods like eggs, milk & milk products, seafood, beans, legumes, pulses, sprouts, peas - reduce fried, processed & avoid junk food, restrict carbohydrates, include a protein food item in each of your meals, also have as a snack in between meals - eat slowly, chew your food well, do not skip meals, have small 4-5 meals rather than three large meals, have a light dinner at least 2-3 hers before bedtime - avoid sugar containing drinks like aerated ones, juices, have water inbetwern & before meals to keep your stomach full & reduce food intake - also do regular exercise like brisk walking, jogging, swimming, play a game, yoga to reduce weight - get blood sugar, thyroid hormone levels checked to rule out any other problem - consult a dietician for your calorie requirement & diet as per your activity level, food habits& constitution.
