Now a days everyone suggests that we should not eat wheat because it contains gluten. Is it true? I experienced that when I eat bhakri made out of jeera or Bajra my sugar level are almost normal but when I eat wheat roti or white rice then it increases please tell me the truth.

We tend to believe in any passing trend we come to know about different food items and start believing what has been told to us. Bajra and jeera are both good for health so is rice and wheat. You can eat both with positive mindset for good health along with all other grains. Take small frequent meals instead of three major meals. Include whole grains and use atta with bran take high fibre diet which include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid sweets and desserts Drink atleast 10-12 glasses of water. Avoid drinking calories in form of juices and carbonated drinks. Avoid eating junk food, fried food and maida products. Try to eat home made food as much as possible. Move yourself use stairs, walk to near by places instead of using any vehicle include at least 45-60 minutes workout in your routine. Take sound sleep of at least 7-8 hours. In case of bajra fibre and iron are more compared to wheat and so is protein .Hence it has a lower glycemic index then wheat so it does not raise sugar levels fast as wheat.in fact you can also include jowar in your diet or any other millet. Wheat is good for you or not ,depends on your tolerance of gluten since childhood. Glycemic index of wheat is more so raises sugar levels faster. So you can make multigrain flour at home using millets.
