Hello Doc. I'm from Assam, India and this here is my 8 months old nephew who has been suffering from meningitis since the last month. We had him treated by Doctors of the Medical College in Dibrugarh, Assam with the procedural antibiotic course which ensured his recuperation. The course ended couple weeks ago. Until yesterday he was fine and fit but as of today he has started showing symptoms of the same again like high fever, vomiting, unending squirming and screaming, sleeplessness. We took him to the nearest hospital in the evening where he has been admitted since. The doctors told us that he has caught pneumonia. I want some advice on this whole problem. What should we do?

It could be pneumonia if fever is associated with increased rate of breathing more than 50 per minute and grunting. Xray chest shall confirm the dignosis. Else pist miningitic sequalae like subdural effusion should be considered and relevant investigation should be done.
