Hi, I am 49 years old, I got minor air crack in the Left hand thumb, fallen in the ground, while falling leaned my left hand, consulted Ortho, he has taken Xray and tied me a Band for 15 days, after that it was removed, but, still the swelling is little bit there, pain is also there little bit, I could not fold my thumb, what should I do now?

Apply crepe bandage for ten days more and in between do ice fomentation and follow up with reports.

Use Cold Pack twice a day for swelling. Also use crape bandage. If the pain persists visit nearby Physiotherapist.

Hi lybrate-user do hot saline fermentation 2 to 3 times a day for about 12 minutes. Start using hand in painfree activities. Try to do what is not possible without forcing. Do thumb movements in elevated position.

Go to the ortho doctor again and do a digital x ray of your thumb .helps in ruling out the cause of pain and swelling.
