Someone I knew was suicidal and his doctor had prescribed me Pexep 12.5 mg. I looked up this medicine, it had side effects and one of them was suicidal thoughts. My question is, when she (the doctor) knew that her patient was struggling with this, why did she give her a medicine that threatens the very thing she is trying to conquer? She was suffering from OCD and some signs of BPD as well.

We know that traveling my motor vehicle may cause accidents, and we witness such things everyday around us. Do we avoid motor vehicles? We can't. Because we also know that not everyone using motors will meet with accidents. Likewise, the effects of a particular medicine doesn't happen for everyone who takes it. It is only a negligible no. of persons out of thousands who are used as research participants. Nothing to worry about it. The Doctor knows well.
