A few months back I removed two backside teeth (one tooth on each side) due to cavity. Three weeks back, I got removable tooth for both. Since then I feel very uncomfortable to eat. I do not enjoy the food I do not feel like wearing those two removable teeth. Will there be any issues if I do not wear them and take care of the remaining teeth.

If you don't wear them, your natural teeth will drift in that space. You can ask your dentist for a fixed option. Â

There are many options to get the removable tooth replaced with fixed one. It can be bridges or implants (if you can afford). You can leave if both the extracted tooth happens to be be the last tooth. You can take proper care and maintain the remaining teeth in good condition. When a tooth is lost, the underlying bone get resorbed after sometime and this is slow down by artificial tooth stimulation. Â

Hi. Better go for fixed teeth options. Bridge or implant. Removal teeth for young patients are often not comfortable to wear. Any teeth removed in mouth has to be replaced to prevent future complications. Regards. Â

Hello lybrate-user. Yes there is an issue if you do not wear them. Your teeth back to missing tooth will migrate mesialy and your upper tooth become supra errupted. Your normal occlusion become disturbed. If you have problem in wearing removable denture. You can go for fixed prosthesis or implant. I think you will feel more better with these prosthesis. Â

Removable dentures are a thing of the past now as they reduce bone thickness on long term use. It is adviced to replace missing teeth with dental implants as they are closest to natural tooth in appearance and function. If you do not fill the empty spaces, the nearby teeth will gradually shift towards this space and disturb your bite. Â

Hello Lybrate user removable dentures are that too for two teeth are not very helpful for chewing. Instead of this removable denture at your age I would have suggested you implant (screw reatined teeth) or fixed partial denture (fixed denture with support from adjacent firm teeth). I can understand both oadjacent teetptions are costly bot will serve your purpose for a very long time. Not wearing the denture the you are currently wearing will not cause any immediate effect, but long term consequences includes moblity in the adjacent teeth. Hope this helps. Â
