You can continue exercise along with the Metformin. As far as diet is concerned, you can eat anything while being cautious of the sugar content and the added calories. That means eat only healthy and freshly prepared homemade food as far as possible. Include seasonal fruits and vegetables into every day meals. Avoid junk food, processed and packaged food including cold drinks. Walking is the best exercise to begin with. Make it a brisk walk if possible later. Increase the time and intensity of exercise as time passes. Do not be hasty and overwork. Rest (sleep is equally important ). Learn yoga (including pranayam and meditation) and do it consistently which can rejuvenate your body and all internal systems. Go for review to your doctor at least once in three months. Let the doctor decide whether to reduce or stop the medications. If you have any health issues then you can also add Homeopathy which is safe and gentle and can be easily taken along with your regular medications. You can contact me for further information.
