Unfortunately, life isn't simple mathematics. Although present HIV medications have improved the longevity and quality of life, how long a person lives depends on innumerable factors like how regular the person is with medications and check-ups, other co-existing diseases, addictions, age, lifestyle etc. Having said that, in an ideal case scenario- the person lives for almost as long as he/she would if he/she were HIV negative.
