Dear lybrate-user It's good to share your concern about your health. I assume you aree newly diagnosed with thyromegaly. You should start Thyronorm for some time. Definitely lifestyle modification will help to control your problem. Though lifestyle modification will help but it is slow process. It'll help to manage the problem. Meanwhile start medicine and avoid cauliflower, Turnip, Brocolli and cruciferous leggy. Let me know next reading of TSH after 3 months.

Hello, Madam, Thanks for the query. TSH 4.951 mU/L, is within normal limits. When level goes above 6 mU/L to 9.9 mU/L, it is considered as subclinical hypothyroidism and no treatment is advised. Only when TSH goes beyong 10 mU/L, treatment with levothyroxine is needed. However, in the subclinical range if a person has any severe symptoms related to hypothyroidism, then treatment is considered. So please tell me if you have any specific complaints related to hypothyroidism? If there are no symptoms do not worry. Only other issue is that if a lady is desiring to have a baby, then TSH should be maintained < 2 mU/L. Thanks.
