I was being treated with combination of metformin, pioglitazone and other drugs since 15 yrs. My HBA1c, Fasting, PP was normal in the last month. But for some other reason I had to change my doctor. And he stooped all the previous drugs and started OXRA 10 with metformin. Noe my Fasting, PP level are increasing every week. It is now 230, 270. What should I do?

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. The glucose levels mentioned are definitely high. It appears that present (new) treatment is not suiting you. Since no details are mentioned in terms of drugs and dosage, it is difficult to comment. If the previous treatment was giving good results with better glucose control, what was the reason for changing? You should tell the doctor that you were better of with earlier treatment and hence, he should revert you to that. Find out what he says. Or else if you want my advise and treatment please come back with following details: current fasting and PP, glucose levels, HbA1c%, drugs being taken with dosage, dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise. Based on those I will be able to give specific guidance or even shift you to earlier treatment. Choice is yours. Thanks.
