Hello sir my son has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last October his glucose level is 400 to 600 during night though if I give extra insulin the same persist luckily ketone are negative still worried about glucose levels. My son details (11 months old, weight 8 kgs, 74 cm) I use humalog mix during night n humalog plain during day.

Please check blood sugars f/pp, bl/al, bd/ad and at bet 1_2 am atleast for two days according to blood sugars rapid acting insulin three times and lantus at bed time can be tried, once getting near normal levels then we can try with humlog mix. Please take care of proper timing of feeds and measures for managing and diagnosing hypoglycaemia and corrections. All the best.
