I am 24 years old. Yesterday I got tensed without any reason and today I checked by BP, it is 170/110. I know it is above normal. How can I reduce it without medicine.

Dear Lybrateuser, - First of all you have to reduce the stress or anxiety which has lead to increase in BP - do yoga, meditation & deep breathing for 10-15 min daily, also do brisk walking, jogging, swimming, play an outdoor game as sweat will bring down the BP by few points, increase your time & intensity of exercise gradually, do not overstrain - reduce salt in your diet, also avoid salty snacks, pickle, papad, foods containing trans & saturated fats, also alcohol & smoking if you do - have a well balanced diet with more of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat milk & milk products, healthy fats as in seafood, oilve, canola or sunflower oil for cooking, avocados, walnuts, almonds, cashews - sleep well for 7-8 hrs at night - monitor BP, if not much improvement then consult a doctor as you will require medication to bring your BP down.
