Hello lybrate-user, Usually, when a women starts lactating she tends to loose weight because of more body requirement and high oestrogen levels. Since you had a cesarean baby, this can probably become the reason of your weight gain. Otherwise for now, you should follow a healthy diet, you may cut down over fatty, deep fried, extra sugar food stuffs, but never quit on vegetables, fruits and pulses. You can have homemade snacks of vegetables and/or pulses (daal & daal products), but never give-up on some of vegetables like papaya, pumpkin, potato etc and fruits like banana, mango, apple, jackfruit (kathal). Many a times we often hear suggestions like along with fast foods we should stop having the above mentioned food stuffs also, but I say all the vegetables & fruits of every single color has its own speciality because they are specifically rich in some particular nutrient required by our body. As your baby gets off breast milk, start doing exercises, you may start with yogas and prayanams first to build-up your concentration and then slowly and steadily with right guidance towards mild to heavy exercises.
